- by 1939, usually said to be so called from being the second, or supporting, film in a double feature. Some film industry sources say it was so called for being the second of the two films major studios generally made in a year, and the one made with less headline talent and released with less promotion. And early usage varies with grade-B movie, suggesting a perceived association with quality.

If I durst speak to herself, you may be certain I would never dream of trusting it to you; because I know you like the back of my hand, and all your blustering talk is that much wind to me.
The story, a sequel to "Kidnapped," has a Scottish setting and context, and the back of my hand to you was noted in the late 19th century as a Scottish expression meaning "I will have nothing to do with you" [e.g. "Jamieson's Dictionary of the Scottish Language"]. In English generally, the back of (one's) handhas been used to imply contempt and rejection since at least 1300. Perhaps the connection of a menacing dismissal is what made Stevenson choose that particular anatomical reference. - back (v.)

زبور نام کتابی است که بر اساس قرآن و روایات اسلامی، بر داوود از پیامبران بنی اسرائیل نازل شده است. زبور به زبان عبری است و سراسر اندرز و دعا و مناجات با ایزد متعال و تجلیل مقام ربوبی است و پس از تورات نزول یافتهاست[۱][۲]
بنا بر روایت وجه تسمیه این کتاب آن است که به صورت مجموعهای مکتوب بر الواح فرود آمدهاست[۳].برخی نیز زبور را به معنی مکتوب دانستهاند.[۴] بعضی پژوهشگران زبور را از ریشه عبری زمره(זימרה) که هم به معنی قدرت و هم به معنی آواز یا سرود است؛ دانستهاند.
زبور در قرآن
در سورههای نساء، انبیاء و اسراء قرآن زبور نام برده شدهاست.
به راستی که ما به تو وحی کردیم چنانکه به نوح و پیامبران پس از او و همچنین به ابراهیم و اسماعیل و اسحاق و یعقوب و اسباط بنیاسرائیل و عیسی و ایوب و یونس و هارون و سلیمان وحی کردیم و به داوود هم زبور را عطا کردیم.(قرآن ۴:۱۶۳)
و پروردگار تو به آنچه در آسمانها و زمین است داناتر است و به داوود زبور را بخشیدیم.(قرآن ۱۷:۵۵)
و ما در زبور پس از ذکر نوشتیم که به راستی بندگان نیکوکار من زمین را وارث خواهند شد. (قرآن ۲۰:۱۰۵)
زبور در تفسیرها
با اینکه قرآن به اعطای زبور به داوود اشاره کردهاست، برخی از مفسرین اهل سنت آن را به طور مطلق کتب انبیاء معنی کردهاند.[۵] بر اساس تفسیر نمونه، کتاب زبور احکام شریعتی خاصی نداشته و آیین جدیدی نیاوردهاست.[۶]. در تفسیر نمونه، زبور دلیل برتری داوود بر دیگر پیامبران دانسته شدهاست.[۷] در این تفسیر همچنان ذکر شده که بخشهایی از زبور از تحریف مصون ماندهاند.[۸]
زبور در روایات اسلامی
در روایتی ابوذر غفاری از پیامبر اسلام نقل کردهاست که زبور یکی از ۱۰۴ کتابیاست که بر مردم جهان نازل گشتهاست.[۹] در صحیح بخاری، ابوهریره از محمد نقل کردهاست که خواندن زبور بر داوود آسان گشته بود و چون به خادمانش میفرمود اسبها را زین کنند؛ پیش از آنکه اسبها زین شود زبور را به پایان میبرد.
تطبیق زبور با مزامیر
برخی پژوهشگران زبور مذکور در قرآن را با مزامیر در عهد عتیق برابر دانستهاند. با این که مزامیر بیشتر به عنوان کتاب دعا و تسبیح شهرت دارد؛ زبور و مزامیر هر دو به داوود منسوباند. در قرآن از زبور آورده شدهاست که بندگان نیکوکار خداوند وارث زمین خواهند شد. در مزامیر داوود، آیهای با معنی مشابه آمده است:
زیرا که خداوند عدالت را دوست میدارد و بندگان صالح خود را رها نمیکند بلکه از ایشان نگهداری میکند زیرا که درخت شریران بریده خواهد شد. و صدیقان وارث زمین شده تا ابد در آن سکونت خواهند کرد؛ زیرا که زبانشان به حکمت گویاست.(مزامیر ۳۷:۲۹)
برخی نیز آیه قرآن در سوره انبیاء را با این بخش مزامیر تطبیق دادهاند. زیرا که شریران منقطع میشوند اما متوکلان به خداوند وارثان زمین خواهند شد. و متواضعان وارث زمین شده از سلامت بهره خواهند برد. شریر دندانهای خویش بر او میفشارد، اما خداوند بر صدیقان متبسم است. (مزامیر ۳۸:۱۱)
آیات دیگری از مزامیر نیز مفهومی نزدیک با آنچه در قرآن آمدهاست دارند:
خداوند روزی صالحان را میداند و میراث ایشان زمین ابدی باشد که در زمان بلا خجل نشوند و در ایام قحطی سیر خواهند شد. این متبرکان خداوند زمین را به میراث میبرند.(مزامیر ۳۸ ۹:۱۱)
برخی از علمای مسلمان که زبور را اشارهای به کتب انبیای پیشین و نه فقط کتاب داوود میدانند، این آیه قرآن را با آیه مشابهی در سفر خروج برابر دانستهاند:
و بندگان خود ابراهیم و اسماعیل و اسحاق و اسرائیل را به یاد آور چونکه به ذات خود برای ایشان سوگند یاد کرده بهایشان گفتی که ذریه شما را چون ستارههای آسمان بسیار خواهم گردانید و تمامی زمینی که دربارهاش گفتم به ذریه شما خواهم بخشید که تا ابد وارث آن باشند. (خروج ۳۲:۱۱)
با این حال در این مورد که مزامیر همان زبور است، اطمینان وجود ندارد. یهودیان و مسیحیان خود معترفاند که از ۱۵۰ مزمور در عهد عتیق، تنها ۷۱ یا ۷۳ مزمور را میتوان به داوود نسبت داد و دیگر مزامیر در سالیان دیگر افزوده شده اند[۱۰][۱۱].
